This has to be one of my easiest DIY’s to date… Was it planned to look this way? Heck no.
I originally wanted it to actually lay on the desk, strung out across. But this is what happens when you are in the midst of catching up on Breaking Bad and you can’t stop twisting the copper and clinching your teeth during the episode.
So a spring desk lamp was born.
Crazy easy and crazy fast.
Materials:
Thin Copper Refrigeration Coil. The thinner, the better. You will be able to easily twist it in your hands. Found at Home Depot.
Light Cord Kit. Found on PB Teen, craft stores, etc.
Two things people. Well, add a light bulb and you have three. Seriously.Easy.
Pull out of package and slightly spread, making a gap between the coils, but don’t completely spread apart.
Begin to twist, making in a circle, working your way down, remembering to keep enough space for a bulb.
After you make your way down a bit, insert the cord kit and wind the coil around the base, enough to support the kit and the bulb in an upright position.
Finish off by making your base wider. I went around twice for support.
Plug in and enjoy!
I definitely see more of these in my future 😉
