I left you guys with a little teaser on Instagram last night on my newest project, and I have been dying to tell.
I was invited to participate in Cricut’s Design Space Star Challenge. Every month, groups of bloggers are given a theme, and come up with a theme inside of that, and have to make a design for the Cricut.
The group had already started last month and asked me to join in, so this is my first and it has been a blast to work with a new machine! We can submit up to ten projects each month. If they are picked into the finals, you guys can vote on which are your favorites!
Our theme was On The Table Dreaming (table top), and it is really cool to see how everyone in Team#16 translated it.
I knew that I wanted to incorporate leather somewhere in my project.
Yes, the cricut cuts leather you guys…
One thing I always want to grab, but don’t ever end up doing because of how much they cost when you grab a ton, are napkin rings. Or in this case, a leather wrap. I knew this would be an easy, basic item to make.
I drew out my design, made it into a svg file and uploaded it.
Ran to my local craft store and grabbed Decorative Leather Craft Pieces.
Placed the leather on my mat, securing it down and ran it through the Cricut. It took under a minute people.
I used sharp scissors and cut slits for tassels, then used leather glue to keep in place.
After a few minutes it was dry and I ran the tassel through the slits. Wrapped it around the napkin and tied it together. Easy as Pie.
I was put in an Awesome group, you guys have got to check out what they have made!!
