I’m back for my second go-round with the Cricut Design Space Star Competition!
First up is a fun little banner you can make for The Holidays and someone will win a brand new Cricut Machine, say whaaaa?!?
I have messed around with felt a handful of times, only to ditch it, because we all know that it is a pain to cut. So when I was looking at what all the new Cricut can cut through, felt being one, I knew this was something I wanted to tackle.
I have had my eyes on the fabulous banners floating around on the interwebs, and was giddy to attempt this when Team 16 decided on our theme!
Materials:
Cricut Explore
Deep Cut Blade and Housing
Cricut Strong Grip Adhesive Cutting Mat
Two Pieces of felt, in different colors
Felt Glue
Small Wooden Dowel
Leather String
I grabbed a few pieces of felt at my local craft store, one being gold glitter. The white was pretty stiff, which I thought would cut better, and it was a dream to work with.
The design was super simple. Drew it out and uploaded it, added the lettering after the design was in the Cricut Design Space.
I placed the white felt on the super sticky mat, making sure it was secure and ran it through the machine.
After the felt was cut, I ran the felt glue on the white felt, where it would be in contact with the gold glitter felt. Lining it all up, I placed the gold glitter felt on the back and applied pressure for about 20 minutes.
While it was drying, I cut the wooden dowel down to the size I needed, and tied my leather string on the ends.
I ran a thin line of felt glue on the top of the felt, laid the dowel on top of the glue and placed pressure on that for about an hour.
Easy as pie.
Do you have a cricut? I am super curious what all people have created with this machine, it’s crazy!! Next up for me is definitely the Print Then Cut feature!
Be sure and check out the rest of Team 16’s projects, crazy talented gals that I am working with!
Now, who wants a Brand New Cricut Machine?!?
