Years ago I had pinned a gold chair on Pinterest, falling in love with the color. It was absolutely gawwwwgeous.
Fast forward to last year, when I purchased a cane chair from a yard sale. I had every intention on painting and reupholstering it.
That is, until I saw a spider crawl up the leg and sneak into the bottom.
Oh hell to the no, I was not going to touch it. Cause everyone knows that spiders go in your furniture, have their spider babies, and those babies will attack your hands if you try to paint it.
This is true. Because it’s on the internet.
So it sat. In the garage. For over a year.
It became our multipurpose water hose holder, rake leaner, soccer ball holder, and trash catcher.
I walked by one day, clearly lacking from a goodnight’s rest and not in my right mind, quickly flipped it over upside down. Everyone knows spiders don’t like to lay on their backs. Obviously this would scare them all away not the year that it sat in the garage.
I had gold metallic gold spray paint left over so I stripped it down, primed it really well and sprayed on several good coats. It dried within an hour.
I don’t prime a ton when I spray paint, but since this was dark and I only had two cans of spray paint, I opted to.
Worked like a dream!
I covered the seat in a curtain that I had grabbed from Martha Stewarts collection at The Home Depot.
Then debated and debated on what to cover the back with. And it hit me, what I really, really like with gold……fur.
Gahh, I can’t stop looking at it!
When the sun comes in, you can see how much it really shines! Loving it with my Gold Studded Wall Art 😉
