Ahhh, and so we come to the end of the Cricut Design Space Star…..bitter sweet.
I will admit how much I have enjoyed it since I am a huge gadget fan and the faint sounds of it during the middle of the night have become my norm 😉
This month our group chose “Winter Comfort’ as our theme (in my post yesterday I whipped up a plaid scarf) and I decided to tackle a peppermint hot chocolate recipe (posted at the bottom) and make a few things to go with it.
First off, let’s talk mugs…
I made two designs, but the deer silhouette was my favorite by far.
Materials:
Mugs (Mine are from World Market)
Red Glitter Vinyl
Cricut Explorer
Directions:
I uploaded the deer silhouette that I had used last year on some pillows.
Next, I inserted a wreath that was drawn out and placed it around the deer.
Set the circut settings on vinyl and let it cut.
Absolute love.
Next up was the Acrylic Tray.
I have actually had this since the summer when the dorm room collections at Target were released and have been hanging on to it waiting for an idea to hit.
Well, last night it did.
Materials:
Acrylic Tray
Gold Glitter Vinyl
Cricut Explorer
Directions:
After I measured my space, I uploaded a simple triangle and copy and pasted till I filled the space.
Next I uploaded a circle in the middle and attached it.
Then I inserted the same deer silhouette in the middle of the circle and attached that again.
Ran the vinyl through the machine and it was a breeze!
And the last one was the apron, which was crazy easy.
All I did was enlarge the image from the mug and switch out the vinyl!
Materials:
Simple White Apron (grabbed mine from the craft store)
Red Glitter Vinyl
Cricut Explorer
Directions:
Insert your image into the design space.
Insert vinyl and cut.
Turn your iron on and press in circular motions for 30 seconds.
Peel plastic layer off, slowly, making sure vinyl is attached.
And now the yummy part!
To say we have a slight obsession with the Candy Cane Hershey Kisses is an understatement. So, naturally, I found a way to incorporate them into our diet…..
- 16 Hershey Kisses Candy Can Flavor (4 per cup)
- 8 TBSP's Ovaltine or Hot Chocolate Powder (2 TBSP's per cup)
- 4 Cups of Milk (1 cup per cup)
- Whip Cream
- Crushed Peppermint
- Heat you milk up on stove top or in the microwave.
- While milk is heating, put ovaltine in each cup.
- Pour milk in after it is heated.
- Place 4 Candy Cane Hershey Kisses in each cup, stirring till melted.
- Top with whip cream and crushed peppermint.
