I am teaming up today with Stacy from Not JUST A Housewife and Jenna over at Rain on a Tin Roof, two of my all time favorites, to bring you guys a series Stacy started a while back 🙂
The idea behind Styled X3 is that Stacy finds three of the same item, keeping one and sending the other two to two different, talented bloggers. All three style the item somewhere in their homes. Altering it is optional.
This month, Stacy chose agate slices. Uhh…still pretty much one of my favorites things.
I’ve worked with agate that has predrilled holes and that doesn’t. Stacy sent both Jenna and I solid pieces. I sat on it for a bit until I ran across gold wire while christmas shopping and I had a pretty good idea where I was going to take it.
Materials:
Agate Slices
22 Gauge Wire
Wire Cutter
Directions:
1. Roll out a bit of wire, leaving extra on the outside to hang the garland from.
Center the wire across one agate slice.
2. Wrap wire around from both sides, tightly criss crossing on the back side.
Take the wires, turn them each clockwise, 90 degrees.
3. Take the wires, up to the top of the agate slice and twist together.
4. String out the wire a few inches or so, and repeat until you have the length you need.
I am loving how this turned out! Simple, makes a statement and start to finish was under 10 minutes. That’s a win in my book!
Have you seen how Stacy and Jenna styled their pieces yet?? Hop over to Not JUST A Housewife and Rain on a Tin Roof to see 🙂
