y’all….
part of me can’t believe that I am going to let you see a portion of my closet. the other part of me wonders why, everyday, that I haven’t tackled it sooner.
even husband said tonight ‘seems like you have been working on this for days.’ actually only hours, between carpooling everyone, the grocery store and bedtime.
But I have been talking about it for weeks, its just the follow through where I fail.
Let’s be honest (almost typed that out like Pitch Perfect, but caught myself), I am not an organized person. I try, Lord knows I try. But the shoes always have the upper hand and I am drowning once again, gasping for air….. And when they are in their pile, I only wear the top few.
In our last house, I had grabbed plastic shoe boxes to store my goods in because I didn’t have the room or shelving for them. And guess what survived the fire? Yup, some of the shoes in the boxes. So you bet I went and stocked up on some more. Hey, it was 99 cents y’all.
Dang it, I feel another song coming on. Guess it was lip synching Sunday around here.
We have a larger, odd shaped closet:
The space between the top shelf and the ceiling on my side begins at 4 foot and slants down to about 1 foot. Good Gravy….so much space but not very deep.
So my shoes have sat like this:
And this…(don’t look at my clothes, I repeat, don’t look. I organize and sort, only to shove in when I am doing laundry at midnight)
So I dumped them all out, sorted and got to work.
Crazy easy, just snapped a pic with the Fuji Instax (camera HERE, film HERE), wrote down a small description and attached it to the box (found HERE).
Why use a polaroid? Sure the film is higher, but I didn’t waist my ink printing it out on my own, or have to pay and wait on the film department at the corner store. This literally took less than a minute per pair.
I knew I already had a mad obsession with sneakers, but flats? Who knew…
I had three larger boxes left over, so I put all of my Toms in one, and sorted my smaller sandals.
The heels? Oh no, those weren’t shoved into boxes…some of those have glitter on them for crying out loud….
I will post next week how I tackled those.
