We were out this weekend and stopped at World Market. While the kids tried out every toy and drank gallons of tea, I heavily stocked the kitchen area.
I grabbed a few wooden spoons, thinking I wanted to just dip the ends in a color.
After I scanned the interwebs for a bit, I decided to grab a wood burner and leave my mark on them. A quick google later and I found one made by Plaid Crafts around the corner from me, with great feed back, for only $12. So many had bad reviews, I opted for this one.
I had about 30 minutes of in-between time to grab kids, so I went to work.
I lightly sanded and taped off where I wanted my paint line to stop. Dipped and let dry completely.
There wasn’t a ton of directions for the burner, just be patient and careful. This thing gets uber hot. And take your time, don’t force it. Use in a will ventilated area.
Oh, and don’t lean too far over or you will install the smell of burnt wood into your nose.
You can top the paint with a non-toxic spray paint for its food safe. Or just use them for decoration. Great little gift for Mother’s Day and Teacher Appreciation Week đ
