Last week I posted about my attempt to fixing my eye twitch, which resulted in a blue room and a new hairpin console for my Master Hallway Makeover.
best.twitch.ever.
As promised, I am back to show you the easy how-to for the console and to happily giveaway one of my all time favorite tools: The Ryobi Airstrike Cordless Narrow Crown Stapler and 18Volt Lithium-Ion Battery and Charger Upgrade Kit! So stinking excited about this.
Materials Used:
2 Pieces of Common Board
Corner Cat Sander
Can of Clear Spray Sealer
2 22″ Hairpin Legs
Airstrike Cordless Narrow Crown Stapler
Compound Miter Saw
6 wood screws
Cordless Drill
Wall Anchors.
Directions:
I measured the master hallway before I ordered the Hairpin legs, so I would know the height since they come in various sizes.
I wanted the console to be about 35″ wide and 33″ or so tall. I ended up ordering the hairpin legs that measured 22″. And they have great customer service, arrived insanely fast.
I had two pieces of Common Board left over from the Parade of Homes Series, that measured 4Ftx12in.
I marked off 35″ on both boards and cut to size with the Mister Saw.
Next I measured and marked 11″ on the two smaller pieces that had been cut off.
Sand down all 4 pieces till smooth.
Lay each piece on its side, support if needed and line up the ends, making a right angle.
Holding together, staple together, starting in the middle and ending with each corner.
Stand upright and make sure everything is level.
Attach bottom piece, sand again if needed then seal and let dry over night.
After the top has dried, attach the hairpin legs to the bottom size, using the appropriately sized wood screws.
Stand up right and place in the area desired.
This piece is really lightweight, and stood well on it’s own. That being said, after some of you saw the end result of our coffee table on Instagram, I opted to attach it to the wall by using right angle brackets and attaching two to the bottom of the console and the wall.
Just incase someone runs by in a mad game of tackle-and-dominate-your-sibling.
You could paint them if needed, but this is really low, so the brackets go unnoticed.
I have raved lately on how much I really dig all of the Ryobi tools and the ONE+ System. My projects require me to use most if not all of my power tools and the ONE+ System has been a life saver. Every single ONE+ tool can use the same battery. Did you see that? You don’t have to have multiple batteries for everything, they all fit! Even if you bought it years ago.
This is massive for me….I know I can quickly charge one while working with another and it can fit whatever tool I need to use next.
And a huge thanks to the super fabulous Ryobi team. I’ve met them several times at Haven, Snap and back at Haven, and have many emails with their team.

I absolutely love working with them.
