I realized last night that I never showed you guys how I made my stocking holders from this year’s Mantel Tour, eek!!
This DIY of my JOY Stocking Holders is probably one of the easiest and quickest crafts to do, and is sure to catch an eye or two from your holiday guests!
Materials:
The Original MantelClip
12″ Wooden Letters
Gold Metallic Spray Paint
Wooden Craft Blocks
Hot Glue and Glue Gun
Mod Podge
Fine Gold Glitter
Clear White Christmas Lights (100 Count)
Drill with drill bit about the width of the Christmas Lights
Directions:
When you purchase your mantel hooks, make sure they have a ‘flat top’ like below, to attach the letters to.
1. Mark, drill holes, mod lodge and attack the letters with glitter and lights. I followed my DIY Illuminated Letters Tutorial from last year exactly. Click here to read.
2. While the letters are drying, spray hooks with gold paint, making sure to coat all sides thoroughly.
3. After all items are dry, take a wooden craft block and hot glue it to the bottom, backside of a letter. You will want to make sure that it is centered and balanced. These will keep the letters standing upright. After the glue is dried, stand letters up to make sure they are centered and balanced.
4. When all dry, glue each letter/block combo to the top, flat side of the hook. Let dry.
5. Place on Mantel, plug in your lights, hang your stockings and enjoy!
