Just a few more Rise and Shine days people……
Counting down the weeks, days, hours, minutes and even seconds till that final bell rings for this school year.
We can do this guys. We can survive this craziness.
Armed with my cute new DIY Monogram Coffee Mug, my mornings will be a tad easier.
Around here, one of our morning battles starts off with fighting for the largest coffee mug. No, this isn’t between husband and myself. It’s between the 16 year old and I. And it doesn’t end pretty.
So when I received this care package from Martha Stewart, I was giddy that it contained a mug.
And you bet that I was about to write my name all over that.
After pulling out the paint, foam puncers and Arm & Hammer Baking Soda boxes, I found an adhesive stencil set.
Uh, hello gorgeous. Where have these been my whole life?
Materials:
Adhesive Stencil Set
Ceramic Reusable Coffee Mug
Foam Pouncer
Martha Stewart Craft Paint
Painters Tape
Directions:
Center the bigger, middle letter of your monogram in the center of the mug.
Using your pouncer, apply paint and peel off stencil.
Let paint dry for a bit, then set the outer two stencils in place.
Apply paint with pouncer.
Peel stencils off and let paint dry.
Using the painters tape, run 8 pieces evenly around the monogram in a diamond shape.
Load the pouncer with paint and apply.
Remove tape and marvel at a mug that will help your morning routine in the last few days of school.
My new go-to item to refresh my morning routine. Toss it in with my other carpool survival items…
Do we dare go into Summer tips?
I cannot wrap my head around the fact that it is literally here. Every spring goes by faster and faster.
Our summer is just as busy as the spring time, so any little thing that I can do that will help out around here, I will tackle it!
Let’s start with where you can find us several times a week – on the patio.
We grill multiple times a week and hang out outside.
The grill becomes nasty after being constantly used, so I simply sprinkle dry Arm & Hammer baking soda on a damp brush, scrub and rinse clean.
Trashcans are overflowing daily with us and the entire neighborhood all being home during the day. A good portion of the time, I don’t want to know what the smell is that has been shoved down in the trash bag. To deodorize the trash, I just sprinkle a bit of Arm & Hammer baking soda between the layers of trash as they accumulate.
The littles are usually revolving around in some type of sport camp pretty much the entire summer. I won’t enlighten you in the wonderful details of the smell that comes from the back of the car and their clothes when they pile in. Let’s just say that I am super thankful for automatic windows.
For the gear: Use 4 tablespoons of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda in 1 quart of warm water to help clean and deodorize smelly sports equipment.
For the bags: Sprinkle Arm & Hammer into golf bags and gym bags to deodorize.
For the golf clubs: 3 parts Arm & Hammer baking soda to 1 part water to make a paste. Brush on, rinse off and let dry.
For the shoes: Shake Arm & Hammer baking soda inside shoes between wearings. Tap out excess before wearing.
And after all of that transporting, my car has been known to smell like a daycare….and look like one exploded inside. Exact words from husband.
Eliminate odors by sprinkling Arm & Hammer baking soda directly on fabric car seats and carpets. Wait 15 minutes or longer and vacuum up.
Happy beginning of summer!
