Shiplap Shiplap Shiplap.
it’s everywhere.
Every magazine you flip through, every channel you turn to and every google (and pinterest) search you type in.
I’ll be the first to admit, I do dig it. If the look it right. I don’t prefer a shabby look, but if that’s you jam, happy dance for you 🙂
I love a good modern feel. The super clean lines just get to me. The vibe can range from Mid Century West Coast to Modern Farmhouse to a Craftsman…..it will just grab me and not let go.
And don’t get me started on dark, planked walls. I love love love the moodiness in a room and literally want it everywhere.
But what if shiplap isn’t up your alley? You would think literally the entire United States of America is engrossed with it, especially since Fixer Upper debuted on television.
pssst…. Planked walls have been around long before they arrived on the scene. I think the obession just got real when people caught wind of Joanna and Chip Gaines. Literally obsessed.
But not everyone loves it. And that’s totally ok!
There are so many (SO MANY) other options that you can do to make a staement, and so many of them don’t have to cover the entire wall, take as much time or require all of the supplies that planked walls do.
I’ve teamed up with a ton of great bloggers this week, (Hi if you are coming from Up To Date Interiors!) to show you guys ideas other than shiplap for your walls. Be sure to check out these talented bloggers at the bottom of this post, their style truly blows me away!
I drew this on my son’s wall not too long ago and absolutely loved it! It was a no brainer and took literally 4 sharpies and a piece of trim to tackle.
My original post was on just making a piece of art, but I have greater plans with this…..just imagine an entire wall covered 🙂
Gosh, this room turned out gorgeous and I am still a bit in awe everytime I see it in my pinterest feed!
Crazy easy, no brainer. Knocked out a podcast while looping the yarn together. And again, would look gorgeous on a greater scale.
I still get daily comments on this post from three years ago. Talk about cover the entire wall in a statement piece!
Stripes will always be my favorite! Paint is such an easy change, and crazy affordable!
Now scoot a boot over to the hotties at Suburban Bitches, they are always one of my favorites!
Hit up these girls this week for more! Such great ideas!!
