One of my favorites pieces in my house is my Faux Deer Head (currently on sale!) that I grabbed last year. I hung it up above our mantel, and pretty much every decoration has revolved around him.
(Click to see Christmas and Valentines Day.)
This year, as I was prepping for my wreath and fall mantel, I wasn’t exactly digging how he looked, ‘floating’ by his lonesome. Yes, our deer is a he, and just might have a name.
Nothing a little glitter can’t fix, am I right?
He does look a tad bit sad before…..
This took just a few minutes, and something that my littles could help me with.
Materials:
1. Mixture of Leaves. I wanted to use real, but we have been in a monsoon for three weeks and those suckers are wet and still green. So using my paper cutter, I cut out several shapes. No leaves were hurt in the glitterfying process.
2. Different shades of glitter for fall. Bronze, Gold, Brown, Black….chunky and fine.
3. Mod Podge
4. Small Artist Paint Brush
5. Double Stick Tape
Directions:
Cut out or collect leaves.
Paint leaves with a thin coat of mod podge.
Sprinkle with Glitter and let dry.
Tape around the deer in a circle.
