I’m back for my second round of Swap It Like It’s Hot with a group of fabulous bloggers! Be sure and check out my first go around with this series, I still have it hanging up in my house 🙂
Its a thrift store swap that a group of bloggers particiapte in. We were only allowed to spend $15 max, shop at a thrift store and had to mail it over to the next blogger so that they can work their magic on the items we had found. I hunted and hunted for my items and shipped them off to Lesley at Chaotically Creative, be sure and check out what she did with them here. I wanted to keep most of it…
I was giddy when I saw that I would be receiving my thrift goods from Brynne at The Gathered Home, she is one of my favorites!
I opened the box and knew immediately what items I was going to use first.
Brynne had found a couple of wicker baskets. I kept thinking if I had a truck load, I would cover an entire wall with them….that would be pretty awesome. But would have probably exceeded her spending limit.
I feel like I see these baskets all the time, so this is pretty doable for anyone.
You guys know that I always have a can of gold paint within arms reach, naturally it was the first thing I went for.
I did think of black after the fact, but loved the way the gold turned out. And the paint also helped to stiffen up the basket after a quick coat, it won’t lose it’s shape as easily.
While the paint dried, I headed out for a few errands and to grocery shop (cough, cough) at Target. I snatched up these two boxes of vase fillers and they fit in perfectly.
Added a few pumpkins I had from the market…
It made the perfect element for fall to my coffee table and would also work great as center pieces on a dining table.
Tune in all week to see the crazy items this talented group of bloggers has been making over! Search the hashtag #swapitlikeitshot on social media to follow along with all the fun or check out our Pinterest Board.
