As the offspring have grown older and wiser taller, their school supply list has grown in dollar amount and the many ways I have to track it down. Once the 15yearold moved on to high school, the school no longer prints out a list. Instead they go to the first week of school and collect all the lists from allllll of their teachers. This goes on for days and days. And for more than a solid week, I am on the never-ending-school-supply-list-scavenger-hunt.
Insanity.
So how many times did I hit up Target and Walmart? I quit counting.
But every time I was in Walmart, searching for some college ruled, 18 subject, 4″ binder, I would see these little unfinished crates. And I would think that they would be a good little project to mess with. Then the insane amount of map colors would consume me and I would forget.
Until Liz Marie posted what she did with one last week (seriously, it looks amazing. Homegirl put wheels on hers, click HERE). And then I remembered seeing them throughout the store. On my next run I grabbed one.
I already had cans of paint on hand, so this didn’t cost anymore than the crate itself.
Materials:
One Crate
Paint color of choice
Painters Tape
Directions:
1. I lightly coated with white paint, just enough to give it a touch of color and not because I ran out of paint.
2. It dried crazy fast. Next I taped off just the front side, similar to how I taped my Gold Studded Wall Art.
3. Sprayed a couple of thin coats in black, then removed tape immediately.
4. Let it dry for about an hour before I began to fill it.
Seriously, how easy is this??
